    Squeeze firmly on the the black portion that's recessed in front of the red and wiggle it while pulling away from the part it's connected to. They can be difficult to disconnect

    I've had 3 RAMs that I bought new...a 2004,2005,and 2012 Between the 3,I had 4 bearings replaced under warranty with under 20k on the trucks with the only off-roading to that point being driving down dirt roads It happens!!!

    The metal backing plate is part of the mirror assembly You'll need to remove the plate currently on there to install the new one

    I would say the wires "should" be there,but you'll have to drop the front of the headliner to find them

    Slide the red tab back(toward wires,away from white part of connector),then squeeze down and pull it out. To re-install,push it back into the female end until it clicks,then push the red tab back in
