3rd and fourth gen body part swap

can anyone tell me what body parts from 3rd gens are interchangeable with fourth gens ...like doors, roof ,bed etc. thanks in advance

nothing is a simple bolt on............well - the tailgate, but the lines don't line up.

Hmmm I was told the 06 07 08 doors would fit on a 09....09 is 4th gen right ?......I'll have to look into it some more

no way the doors will fit.

the 09 1500s are 4th gens.

Sorry I should have said I'm talking about 2500's ....I'm looking at rebuilding a diesel 2500 and i need a rear door and roof pillar and bed for it. wasn't sure what year's I might be able t get that from. I think I can use parts from a 1500 06 - 08 and 2500 06 - 09.

well..........thats not a 4th gen.

most parts on the 02-08 1500s and 03-09 2500/3500s are swappable, with exception to a few things that changed (front fenders, headlamps, etc). but the doors are the same, roof, bed, all that stuff.

Might I ask what happened to the truck to require the parts? Only thing that comes to mind is a tree falling on it but just wondering.

I'm guessing a tow accident from the damage don't really know for sure ... .....needs roof repair ,rear passenger door, drivers side front fender,hood, bumper,grille,drivers side mirror and a bed.

that is a weird accident. looks like he rearended something and whatever he was towing punched the tailgate and wrinkled the bed, then whatever he hit fell on top of the truck or something. hmm
