Brake controller

I am new to the forum
I am installing the Factory Integrated Brake Controller
and what I have read on the ramforums, is that I need to have it activated (woken up)
I got a price of 110.00 because it will take 1.5 hours
Sounds like a long time

Can I do it with out scanner tool

If I need scanner tool, should I buy it if I want to add garage buttons and that needs to be activated (any good deals that been used and worked)

is it hard to do?

Hour and half seems long but the price is about right.

1 no you need the tool so the computer recognize it.
2 I would not buy the tool, the star scanner is like 3 grand.
3 I have no idea.

Yea that time must be for them to install and flash. I would put it in my self. Pretty easy. Took maybe 45 min. There is a thread on here that tells you how to remove the stereo. I used that to get the panel off. Good luck. My dealer charged 59.00 to flash.

brake controller hooked up but confused

Thanks just was looking at all the stuff I want to add (back up camera, plug in Instrument Panel, and garage door opener) I like adding stuff I dont need
and its adding up the cost of flashing each item I want to see if they will do a couple for better price
I installed brake controller today it took an hour that top bolt sucked
I found a video on you tube it was helpful to tell what you have to do

its showing on the screen in the corner and I can adjust the setting 0.0 - 10 but not in the center of screen (were speed is) does it have to show there to work or does it work when you hook a trailer up
