I have a table that I want to move, and with my RamBox storage, it won't fit in the bed. I would like to rent a small UHaul trailer to move it. I don't have any boats or campers. This would be a one time thing. Because of that, I don't want to go to the expense of installing a hitch. Is this going to be an issue?

In my experience with towing on the bumper, you'll more than likely end up causing some sort of damage to your bumper. Our trucks sit so tall vs what they use to it causes the trailers to be tounge high. That angle has a good chance of placing a dent in your bumper. Other than that there's nothing wrong with it.

This pic is a little exaggerated but now make a turn and you can see how it could dent a bumper. I have 2 suggestions. 1 order a Curt 1333 hitch if your some what handy it's a easy install and they are like $60-$70 on Amazon. Number 2 rent a truck from home Depot or a equipment place that way you can get one with a flatbed. You can take the risk of towing on the bumper but might cost you some body work.

use the bumper and watch your hard turns.you'll be fine.they should have the rating on the bumper by the ball mounting hole.you won't bend it unless you do something really stupid.

I'm a class A CDL holder. What's a hard turn?

He's probably more referring to backing up. The bumper I'm pretty sure is rated to 5k(way higher than you would need) maybe with they way uhauls trailer tounge raises up you might be ok. I use to have a f-150 and pulled a 5x10 with 3 dirt bikes on it, on the bumper and had perfect dimple marks left and right of the ball and I didn't do anything stupid. Made no hard turns didnt get it jacked backing up just a normal haul. Sense then it's always made me install a receiver. I'm sure lots of people have pulled on the bumper with no issues just wanted to share my personal experience.

My main concern was the weight. Just wanted to make sure that there wasn't going to be an issue with that. And I'm not going to be going more than 5 miles with it.

Watch the transitions between the road and your driveway. Your going to be extremely nose high. Class A CDL or not, if you have to back up with it be careful. Small trailers jack knife very quickly unless your used to backing them up. Good luck.

If you're worried about dinging the bumper just rent a u haul or Home Depot pickup or ask a friend. But weight wise you'll be fine. As mentioned the bumper is 5k pulling, and 500 lbs 'payload'.

Who buys a real truck without a hitch?:crazy:

i wish the dealers thought like that, i bought a 2014 hemi and i had to add a hitch on it, and yet my 2013 had one from the factory on a 3.6 :flipthebird:

the hitch should be standard on the trucks with the option to remove it lol
