I just joined here so I am going to start a project thread so you guys can check out my truck.
Here is the story behind my truck and pictures to go along with it.
My dad got the truck in 86 or 87. It was a slant six four speed truck, eventually it got a midly built 400 and four speed. That motor eventually was grenaded by a faulty cam breaking and busting the block, it was replaced by a 318 and automatic from a diplomat. He drove it like that for years and it was the truck I grew up in. Eventually the truck was just used for hauling trash off and it blew a headgasket and dad parked it. It ended up setting in the yard for 8 years with trash in the bed of it. Two years ago I asked him about it and he told me if I could fix it I could have it.
I started out buying some parts here and there and getting ready to start its journey back to being a drivable truck. I bought a 93 dodge van off my stepdad for a donor vehicle and started my process of getting a motor and trans ready for the truck.
The Magnum 318 out of the van was a relatively low millage motor and had been serviced regularly so I decided to not rebuild it just do a few things and put it in.
I had a 89 360 roller cam welded and reground into the cam I wanted. Its a 206/212 Duration .512/.522 on a 107 LSA. I also converted it back over to carb and put a four speed behind it.
Here's what it looked like after I pulled it out of the spot it had been sitting.
Little mean green and effort goes a long ways
