Installed an inline fuel pump. Wired it to the ignition and added a switch so I don't have to listen to it run all the time. Also flushed the cooling system, ran vinegar through the radiator and installed a 180° T-stat. All this to hopefully fix the vapor lock issues I've been having.

i have heard dish soap in the cooling system cleans the cooling system out good but hopefully the 180* thermostat solve the issue. i haven't had any fuel related issues since i plugged my return line but i do got the big holley street avenger. i bought an el camino a couple weeks ago so haven't really had much time to work on my vehicles between that and work but did help my buddy lift his truck some yesterday

El Camino?? Cool..
I hope this fixes the problem, I'm planning to haul the camper this weekend and it's supposed to be in the 80's F.

Getting a front end alignment on my W100. There is definitely something off with the caster/camber. Hoping it is something they have parts for so I don't have to come back. I am anxious to get the new tires/rims on but I don't want to ruin them right off the bat.

Over the last couple of weeks on my old '92 W250 gasser I've replaced the steering gear box, power steering pump, draglink and put in a Borgeson steering shaft. Also did a full fluid change and tune up to include plug wires, dizzy cap, rotor and t-stat. Runs like new. This truck is my DD.

well generally if you have camber issue you either got a bent axle or worn out ball joints or bearings. never a good thing. i think you can parts to adjust camber but i think it still usually requires pull a good chunk of both sides apart. most alignment shops won't even adjust camber on a straight axle. they will only do toe which you can pretty much do in your driveway with a tape measure.

haven't driven a dodge since Friday. my truck has been parked at my sisters house since i put the elcamino on the road. kind of miss it but got to enjoy what is left of the season. i have had my 81 for 7 years as of the other day

Added in some new reverse lights. They work with the reverse lights as well as on a manual switch.

Like the flush mount!

Nice ride! what motor you have in the elco? I wish California didn't have ridiculous smog laws, I've always been partial to the "squared off" el caminos.

as for what I did to my ram, I started the disassembly process in my frame off restore. box is off, not a good pic. working on the hood and fenders tomorrow. If time allows, pull the motor, not watching the superbowl so it's possible.

it has the 350 4 bbl. for what i paid for it it is a pretty fun ride. just sucks that i can only drive it part of the year around here. it has been sitting in storage since about November. i go fire it up occasionally. need to get some work done on it before summer rolls around. it has so many small issues that need to be address but it is a fun car. i was almost tempted to buy a truck with shaved door handles that recently popped up locally just because it would match the elcamino with the shaved door handles lol

that don't look like a 72. that pic looks like it is a 93. looks like a pretty nice frames. my 81's frame is pretty solid but it is no where near that clean. i may end up having to visit your neck of the woods one of these days to get a nice clean frame and turn my truck into a summer toy only lol

good eye, you are correct. I'm stripping my 93. I'm getting all the good parts off of it. the frame would be nice but the driver's front took a small hit. once I have everything apart, if it is straight, I may use it. also it may donate it's 360 and trans to the project too. Not sure if it's a 46RH or RE. either way I have a newer 46RH in my shop. my 73 has a caved in roof so will be donating some body and floor sheet metal. the 78 has no motor, it is just plain backup and will likely be my field/property work truck with the 73's 318/727.

Next is to strip my 72 and start building from the ground up. Mostly, I want to move the gas tank out of the cab to under the frame. I started stripping my 72 but every bolt is pretty much stuck. so I figured i'd practice on the newer truck while getting what I need done, done. then I know how thing should go and hopefully will reduce my struggle with the 72.

There's a surprising number of D100/150s on craigslist to pick from, if you ever make it out this way.

it should definitely be a 46RH. they didn't start using the 46RE till 96/97. definitely a good setup to keep. it would even be nice to keep the fuel injection which is pretty simple on these things when everything is working properly. you definitely notice the huge power difference.

i don't know what tool you have but a good impact gun backed by a decent compressor should likely make easy work of any bolt that gets in its way. i got quite a bit of experience with rusty bolts and the impact gun can be a life saver along with the air chisel. it also does not hurt to hit everything with penitrating oil or if you want you can mix up your own. 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone is suppose to make a really good penitrating oil.

it would not really be too surprising how many trucks there are on craigslist out there. i have heard the way emissions are out there is ridiculous. if it don't pass it can be expensive to fix which is why you are fixing the 72. i think i remember reading 74 and older don't have to do e-testing. plus then there is also back taxes if you don't register the vehicle as in-op. it sound just completely silly.

Pulled off the bed rail cover rails and the cover. Pulled the mat out of the bed and hosed it and the bed down for inspection. Cleaned the garbage out of the cab. Took off the vertical pieces of the running boards and will cut the rest off today. Tried to trace the airlines of the rear coil helper bags so I can find out how to inflate them. No luck.

Swapped my stock Sport wheels and Falken tires for the set of black Mopar Rebel wheels and Toyos I grabbed from @timmy on the Rebel forum. Exactly the look I was hoping for...I'll be swapping the side steps for the all black Mopar steps once the new hardware shows up.

Pulled all of the trim in the cab and off of the outside of the truck. removed all clips. Took off the grill shell and headlight doors. Removed the tailgate center panel and the dodge emblem from the hood. Next up is the seat out and the carpet, both bumpers. That gets me ready to do metalwork and body work. Also gets me ready to begin painting the interior a different color.

Got all the old wiring butchery removed on my 86 Power Ram this weekend and started installing the speedway 22 circuit wiring harness. I got the old service bed off and I am going to use the original? Fleetside bed on it for now. Trying to get it on the road by November.
