Hey, I have kind of a time sensitive issue and have only had time to do a limited amount of reading. I traded in my leveled/lifted 1/2 ton for a leveled 2500, both 2014 Laramies. Did this 3 weeks ago. Somehow I didn't notice that on the 2500 the coil springs aren't sitting right and seem contorted until this last Thursday before I took it to the dealer for oil change. It has Fox 2.0 shocks on so I thought all was ok when test driving. They tried to put the springs back into place when they raised the truck, but the springs went right back into the contorted position.

The dealer has agreed to send my truck to their shop that does lifts/levels next week. My question is what is the correct way to level this rig? Seems to be the best way would be Thuren coils/shocks and a new track bar? I sent pics to Thuren and they think someone put the wrong spacer set-up on the truck and that's why the springs are doing what their doing.

Am I on the correct track for leveling?

Passenger side is worse...

I think this is common with spacers, as the springs are a bit contorted from the factory, heard this was due to reduce the pressure on the axle up and down and reduce death wobble.

The best way to do it on a Radius arm would be a complete new level spring. No matter who they go with. I don't think a shop that does lifts/levels is going to have a Carli or Thuren 'in stock', but you never know. Just as long as you don't have a spacer.

With a radius arm truck, a track bar isn't needed, but if they are going to do that, why not.

Thuren was saying to replace the trackbar if truck is over 20k miles, mine is 27k. That's why I mentioned it.

That looks like my 1/2 ton spacer did. I'll take a pic of 3/4 ton spacer in a minute

Don isn't going to point you in the wrong direction.
They know their Rams and suspension.

I've hung out with them on many occasions and they are a great group of guys!

I have the same setup right now. It was suppose to be temp - until I ordered a kit, but things have been put on the back burner. I'll have to go take a picture of mine to see if it's doing it. I don't have the same mileage as yours, NOR the amount of rust.. haha but that's because I am in AZ. I have 23K miles on mine.

How do those shocks work? Seem smooth?

I am very happy with my Rough Country 3 in level, Came with springs for the front 1 inch block with u-bolts in rear and all 4 shocks. I have never had a problem with Rough Country and have used them on a lot of difference vehicles.

That looks like the correct spacers to me. How does the struck ride/drive? The factory springs come bowed pretty bad but it doesn't really affect the ride. The best way to level the truck is with a correctly designed +2" spring. Thuren and Carli both have leveling springs.

Mopar +2" springs on the top and Thuren +3" springs on the bottom. The spring rates and ride quality are very close. The Mopar lift spring is worse on the passenger side but the truck's suspension works just fine, aesthetics notwithstanding.

Carli/thuren like everyone said- Full spring replacement with a thuren or carli adjustable track bar hands down the best way to go- Radius arm drops or full replacements are a good idea as well just cost more money. At the end of the day everyone has their own opinion- I have a had a typical " 6" lift " and that's all it is- No extra travel- No better ride quality. Now I want more travel and ride quality- The truck sits high enough for me so a thuren or Carlo kit is the way I will go. Spacers work- Just depends on what you want. Best of luck, at least the dealership is going to work on it with/for you. That's awesome and helps.

Pretty smooth, yes. I used to live out there, but in Mesa..

Drives just fine. So the springs are contorted stock, huh? Like 07Megacab said. Maybe there isn't such a big issue? Thuren didn't care for it...lol

Spacers are really the red headed step child to suspension.

They do the trick, just considered not the best way to do it.

I did it as I got a great deal on wheels and tires and needed to level my truck overnight. The '14 stuff wasn't out for Thuren just yet. So I did the spacers as a temporary thing but been almost 2 years. Which is fine with me at this current time as I don't off road as much as I did. :(

I was worried about spring issues when I leveled my truck but the 2" spacer kit I got also comes with a lower shock relocation bracket to line thing up again and not bind the spring.

All I really need to get at this point is an adjustable track bar.

2" - you should be good without a trackbar.

Take a square and measure how much tire you have on each side. If it's under half an half of an inch, you're good.

Thuren springs will no doubtedly ride better than your current spring and spacer. If money isn't an issue, that is the correct way to do things.

Is this thuren coil pretty easy to install? Just replace the coils and remove the current spacer?

Yeah, just take the spacer out, remove the spring, put in the new one and done.

Unlike the 1500, the 2500/3500 are easier to level.

Interesting, the spacer that shows mounting bolts is driver side. The spacer that showe NO mounting bolts is passenger side and the pic of the rusty bolt/strap is how it's mounted....
