where in the holy hell are you getting oil changes for $10 or $15!?

My dad did his at the dealer with both fuel filters it was $300... (obviously going to be higher with fuel filters i know...)

I think he means paying $10 to $15 extra for them to do just the front drive shaft grease. That is least how I read it.

I was referring to greasing the drive shaft. I always change my oil myself.

Always cross the non drive wheels. So fronts cross to the back and backs go straight forward. A FWD car would be the opposite.

Due for my first oil change, and the dealer included lifetime free oil changes when I bought the truck :) But, I'm sure they plan to **** me on the fuel filters, so after a little poking around, I found this set on Amazon for under $100.

Decent price for the set - can't seem to find them anywhere else for cheaper.

Question; will the gauge automatically reset once I change the filters or is there a procedure to reset the gauges?

No you have to use the arrows in the evic to reset. Very easy to do.

so i got the blackstone report back last week

did my first oil change at 3,000(dealer claims to have used synthetic)
second at 6,500(my shop mobil1)
third today 11,500(my shop mobil1)

the actual mileage was 4,800 from second to third oil change(got nervous about idle time), blackstone stated that my oil looked good, but was equal to that of an oil that had 6,900. there was active additive left.

said i can run close to their average interval next, dont know what that means

i dont know if im used to the truck or its just psychological but i feel like i lost power since around 10k

Can you redact your personal info and post Blackstone's actual report? There is other info and their exact wording of things that can say a lot more.

You are not going crazy. As per your diesel supplement.....

"Because of the construction of the Cummins® turbocharged
diesel engine, engine run-in is enhanced by
loaded operating conditions which allow the engine
parts to achieve final finish and fit during the first 6,000
miles (10 000 km).
"

There is a definite change in performance once the engine is run-in which is why I tell people not to judge the Cummins performance based off of a test drive on a truck with zero miles on it. Mine was about 8,000 miles when I noticed it, but that is because I tow regularly. It may have taken longer for you since you idle a lot.

So I changed the fuel filters this weekend (after oil change). Saved a bunch of greenbacks doing it myself, but boy-oh-boy did I get diesel friggin' everywhere, lol.

Even with the handy drains built in, I still managed to spill it all over. Just be aware, that when you think the filters are drained, they are in fact NOT! heh

Here is mike456 oil report he sent me.

Mike, is this report correct that there is 11,338 miles on the sample or was that intended for overall vehicle miles?
