Has anybody tried to put a 30" curved light bar between the tow hooks?
My measurement is 31" between tow hooks but with hardware not sure if it would fit.
There was a guy on here (think it was Brandon) that did it but he had to grind some of the hooks away. Not sure what brand he installed & do not see him on here anymore. Maybe he got booted off.

A ****-ton... Nay, a metric ****-ton of info on this thread...

You'll likely find your answer in there.

Welp I waded through all 75 pages & most of them are 1500's. The one guy that did his 2500 got rid of the factory tow hooks & added after market ones. I actually have used my hooks a couple of times over the last year so I don't really want get rid of them.

You should be fine with a 30 inch curved light bar. I just ran out and measured the space between my bar and tow hooks on my 2500 for you. I have a 28" curved light bar and there is 2 1/4" on either side of my light bar between the hooks. I would post a picture of the space for you, but I haven't been able to figure out how to put pictures on here.

I chose to shave the tab off the end of the bar, then milled up some custom plates to bolt the light bar between the tow hooks. I used the tow hook as the mount, then ran the custom plate mount on the inside of the hook, and then bolted that to the light bar, sandwiching the hook.

Basically, I made the bar fit the space, rather than making my truck fit the bar, heh.

Yeah you might have to fab up some bracket, go to Homedepot or Lowes, I've been wanting to install one but my money is funny right now.

No biggie but if you get a chance to take a few pics I would appreciate it. A 28" would probably fit good but there are not many choices in that size.

here is what you were looking for http://www.ramforum.com/f17/brandon...ed_build_thread-68266/index6.html#post1055229

i personally have a 20" light bar mounted in the front between the hooks, i dont have any current pictures with the bar mounted but i can get one or two tonight.

Yep... that's who I was trying to find. It appears that Road King has made it work too.
I just don't wanna buy something online to find out that it doesn't work.
I am pretty good at Macgyvering things so I should be able to make something work. :naughty:

Theres brackets you just buy to make it bolt right up without modifying anything. They have them for 40 inch and 22 inch i believe. Just check Amazon... the brackets are only like $45. I did mine with a 22" curved and its awesome. I attached the best picture i have, but its not great.

Edit: if you read the reviews on some of these there are people that are moving the mounting on certain brands of brackets and/or modifying the bracket itself to make a 30 inch work. Either way if your set on a 30 inch, it seems alot easier to start with one of these rather than milling you tow hooks.
