My 2500 6.4hemi was getting 18+
My 3500 6.4hemi dually, closer to 15-17

EVIC was closer to correct on the 2500, about 1-1.5 high on the 3500.

MDS worked a lot better on the lighter 2500. Kicking myself for trading it in. Oh well, 3500 is a nicer ride at the expense of MPGs.

Click on my fuelly link, I put my EVIC reading in the comments almost every tank. It varies on my truck, and it's pretty close most of the time. No real trend. It's definitely not "always" off by 1 or 2 mpg.

Nice looking truck, Mine is a 15 with the black appearance group, I did add black side steps, and window tint…if I could figure out how to add I pic I would…..

Thanks, I need new pics, I've added a couple things, N-Fab black Ndurasteps, a Bak Roll-X. Planning on the front side windows tint soon!

I had them limo over all my back " factory tinted" windows and put the lightest possible on the front like a 35%. I love it.. makes such a difference in temp- and my toddlers seem to sleep better in the truck :)

EVIC estimates on my 14/ 2500 are from 1 to 2 mpg higher that hand calculated. Will agree, most other vehicles I've owned were about 1 mpg off. Still, if you have a 25/35oo series, no mileage estimates are given. Guess, around 15 to 16 town and about the same hi way isn't out of line when you are running close to 8k for weight. I carry my B&W slider hitch and an 8500 Gen set in the back all the time.

My EVIC is usually around 1-1.5 MPG optimistic. I usually average around 11 MPG but the computer says 12-12.5. Last tank was weird though. I got 10, hand calculated, but the computer said 13.3.

evic #'s and mileage

New guy, first post. Just put a down payment on a 6.4 2500.

Wide range of mpg and dash mpgs not matching isnt a RAM only thing. I had a 2012 and 2013 CC F150 ecoboosts. both 4x4, one 3.31 the other 3.73. The 3.31 averaged 17.0 at 80, the 3.73 15.5. The dash was about 1mpg off. E10 gas would drop the numbers about 1MPG or there about.

There was always a lot of unhappy EB owners who drank the mpg coolaide then we're mad when their crew cab, 6.5' bed with 4.10 FX4 axle and cooper stt tires never got close to sticker at 80mph. Well...duh! "but I've owned xxxx model sedans over the years and always got sticker or better!" Buddy, your sedan was same size, same tires, same axle ratio, etc... as the vehicle xxxx sent to have tested. And of course, it was the manufacturer lying to them even though they didn't do the testing (which is a joke)

My wife also can't get as good of mpg as I do. She just is a little heavier on the go pedal and brakes.

Going to Ram 6.4l 2500 for they extra payload. I will miss the EB power. It rarely downshifted. Instead of kicking down to the powerband the turbos just added more at the rpm you were at. Lol. Throw the wife and kids, dog luggage and my jumbo rear in there isnt much left for trailer tongue weight In the F150.

Im hoping for 13-14 mixed. but I've never had the luck with MPG some people claim with the same truck, however I've also never returned as bad of numbers as some either. If it can do 15-16 empty on the HWY I will be pleased. Out here in rural MT we have 4 stop lights within a 50 mile radius, 59 miles to mcdonalds, 75 to walmart, 90 to starbucks. City driving is pretty relaxed and Hwy is not bumper to bumper. Just set the cruise, crank the tunes and cruise.

Do people really see some of these numbers with their cummins?? My father has a 2012 dually that averaged 12 before he just spent $4k on tune, exhaust, and delete to get 16.

PS: I'm a mopar dude at heart. I have a 76 warlock and a 68 baracuda.

at altitude obviously a aftermarket air filter and exhaust will help a little and a hemifever tune on a Diablo tunner won't hurt either. I think that once ur broke in you will be ecstatic about your mpg"s. I think my truck has like 240 hours on drive time and 130 hours of idle time.. I let that ****** idle a lot. but I am lucky to put 8k miles a year on mine. Also according to mopar they only recomend two types of oil.. theirs and the penzoil ultra synthetic. I switched to the penzoil .. just beware it was a ***** to find.

I still have my 2011 F150 Ecoboost 4x4 3.55. I only have a custom tune on on it is probably around 420 hp and 530 lb-ft given the parasitic loss of the drive train. And that is with my 5 Star tow tune. It is a lot more fun to drive than my 2500 thats for sure.

And you never will at 80 mph. The highest speed reached in the EPA highway tests is 60 mph so someone thinking they will get what the stickers says doing 70 or 80 mph is being very optimistic.

Kind of the same reason I went with mine. Because no half ton will pull this....

Pre DEF on the 6.7L, that 12 mpg is about right. After DEF, 16 mpg is the norm. The only reason why the truck in my fuelly sig gets what it does is because I am somewhat of an aggressive driver that likes to take off like a jack rabbit every time I come ff a dead stop, and because of how much I have been towing lately trying to clear out some land.

Nice vehicles.

I've had many many vehicles with computer calculated fuel economy and every time I've ever verified by hand it's been pretty much dead on. If this one is off It'd be the only one I've ever seen that was....but anything is possible!!!

My old 1999 Dodge 2500, V-10 said 9.9 MPG, when it was really 9.2.
This 2014 1500 claims 18.5, up to 20.7, overall gas milage, on different tanks of gas. It is always off by 1.4 MPG.

Not that I care, to be honest.

I'm still thrilled, every single time, I fuel up, then figure it out, by hand.
Wife joked, awhile back, she thinks I am only the person in the USA to be upset of the lowering fuel prices.

9MPG for 190K miles.

Flat out love the MPG of this little truck.

Last tank(all empty)was over 50% highway w/cruise set at 70, and the rest around town=13.3 mpg. That was pretty disappointing. I was expecting mid 14s with that mix.

My last tank was about the same... but with better results. I drove 150 highway miles out of a tank of 369 miles. My first REAL highway jaunt, EVIC was intoxicated and said 16.3mpg:crazy: Actual was 14.9. Just went over 3100 miles, I feel it's starting to loosen up a bit. Long hill to my house coasting gets me 60mph. My '05 Hemi QC would hit 62mph. Just a little way to see how the drivetrain frees up as time goes on.

Just towed my 38' 11k FW to our seasonal sight this weekend. Trip was 78 miles. Rolling hills to some decent climbs. Mixed interstate, secondary roads. EVIC showed 9.1. My EVIC has usually been within a few tenths of hand calculated.

A trip to U of A to move my daughter home from college. Some country highways, lots of traffic in Fayetville and turnpike coming back.

I started this thread, so I guess I might as well post and update of my own. Just pulled my boat (7500 lbs) on a 60 mile run to drop it off at a marina. Running at about 65 mph with a little head wind the computer said 9.4 when I arrived. Relatively flat road with a few little hills up and down.
Truck%20and%20Boat%206_zpsdmiap0k6.jpg

Coming home empty, running at 65 mph and cruise control it actually read 21 mpg for the first 10 miles or so, then dropped off. I have a picture of the screen showing 19.8 mpg with an average speed of 58 mph just as I was coming into town, but it's so blurry I didn't think it was worthy of posting. When I pulled in the garage at home it was reading 19.1 mpg.

2015 2500 Laramie 4x4 with 4:10 gears and factory 20" wheels and under 2,000 miles on the truck.

I was amazed at my EVIC's mpg read out too. That is until I entered the data into my app and found out that the EVIC was always showing about 2 mpg better than my hand calculation. Atleast I am not alone compared to most people on this forum. I just don't get why it is so far off ALL the time and why most have the same issue. My F150 computer reading is always within .5 mpg from actual. Does anybody know if Ram is doing anything to fix this or if there is any kind of update fix? I am seeing some people with newer trucks getting closer to actual.

So how long before you guys noticed an improvement in gas mileage after you bought it?
