1. Used muriatic acid to remove any wax and the aluminums natural protective layer.
2. Used a paint stripping wheel to give it some texture.
3. Used self etching primer....3 coats.
4. 3 coats of VHT engine primer...black.
It turned out really nice, all shiny and black. But the bed rail covers I had were textured so I wanted it to match.
Used a Scotch brite pad on the toolbox then used a can of the bedliner spray to give it texture.
Edit: I still need to go over it with some high gloss clear to get it to shine.

Found some Knight rider type scanning lights to add to my night runner. I've got them wired into my emergency light for the fire department.
