A coworker is offering to sell me his almost new tires off his 2500. They are 285/60R20 Firestone Transforce. There shouldn't be an issue running them on my 1500 in place of the 275/60R20s that are on it now right? It's just a slightly taller tire.

They (2500) will be a 10 ply tire and have a slightly more harsh ride

No problems just heavier tires. They will be about 60lbs vs 40 ea. And you'll need to run slightly higher tire pressures in them. I believe you would need to run 50-55. I have read that some HD guys found they are safe down to 45(per firestone load tables) but by the load tables 50-55 should be about right just check your wear pattern make sure your tires wear evenly.

Harsher ride, slightly less mpg. And theyll be 10mm wider, and a smidge taller, prolly barely noticeable with naked eye...

My buddy has those Firestone tires on his 2500 and the tread wear is horrible, he's at about 26K and will be needing new tires before this winter. He has rotated the tires every 8K. There is also lots of complaints about the rapid thread wear on TireRack.com
If he sells them to you super cheap, they might be worth it.

Right now I have Firestone Destination LE2s I was dumb and didn't rotate them so the rears are almost bald. The fronts are about 80% I talked to my mechanic and he said I would be ok to run 2 new ones with the fronts without issue. 2 new tires will run me about $400 all in the tires the guy is willing to sell me are about 80% and he is willing to give me all 4 for $400. So i'm a little torn on which way to go.
