I'm looking at buying my first Ram truck! I've had Toyotas and a GMC, but I have just recently taken a liking to the new Rams.

I'm trying desperately to work this deal:

2016 Ram 1500 Sport 4x4

MSRP- $48875
Convenience Group
Remote Start Security Group
3.92 Axle
Anti spin diff
Sport hood
Park Sense

Selling price after rebate(s)- $41063

Is this a good selling price? I was hoping for at least 20% off since it is a 2016! Hopefully, I'll be a member here next week!

Thanks!!!

I found better deals on the laramie, if you're not set on a sport. I just got a loaded 16 laramie crew 6.4 bed for 39 ,it sticker at 53. Discounts were not as good on the sport, that i found.

Garbage deal. I will find what you can get one minute. It usually is between 10 and 12k off msrp.

Every 2016 MINIMUM 10k off, here.

You are smart checking here first.

I'm not stuck on a Sport. Just as long as it's not stripped! I'm in NC by the way.

where in N.C are you?

If you find a great deal pass on dealer ifo.
I am in Raleigh and was looking at a 16 rebel, been on lot since april.
There discounting it 9200.00 dollars, I laughed and said its been on lot this long and that's all you can do? call me when you can do better.
There laramies are discounted starting at 13,000.00

I don't need a new a new truck, I have a 13 big horn and only have 45000 miles, I just want a new one.

I have bought 3 Ram's so far. All fourth gen.
$1800 below invoice then subtract any rebates offered in your area.
If dealer tells you he can't do it, tell him he can, he just doesn't want to.
I'm in NY and good rule of thumb here is 17% off of sticker then subtract any rebates. I have gotten an average of $13,000 off sticker.

The tricky part is that I have a trade, a 2016 Tacoma Limited. Nice truck but I feel it's too small and with the transmission's shift calibration the engine at times is weak. You really have to get into it for it to go. So it must go!!!

That sounds like a problem. Trying to trade a 16 for a 16.

You are probably majorly upside down. This could be difficult.

You shouldn't have purchased the Tacoma.

Well sir thanks for pointing out the obvious! Unfortunately, for me I am a serial car buyer. I have had so many cars over the past 25 years that my family thinks I'm crazy and so do I.

I have negotiate some pretty tough deals over the years and needless to say this will be my toughest. I use forums like these to assist me because people on forums are fanatical in the own way, but they are knowledgeable!

But thanks anyway for reminding me of the hole I dug!!!

JQ, sports dont seem as plentiful as other models and i found recently that dealers are giving better deals on the other models. depending on what you do with truck, big horns are the most common truck on the lot and dealers need to move them. outdoorsman is also a nice package. should be able to get some deals on these also.

Tacoma's hold their value better then anything, I would put off buying the Ram until I sold my Tacoma on my own. If you put anything down on it you should be fine. I would live with it unless you feel like losing 5-6g's. That Tacoma will probably sell near the same price for 3 years. You loose when you drive off the lot, but then it holds for a good 3 years assuming low miles. You literally have a couple years of free miles. Good luck

Live and learn, I'm sure you can tune it a little better. But of course stock 395 HP is like lighting in a bottle compared to that v6.

so are you saying you got into a new ram for your Taco and 7000 bucks? if so, be thankful you can still make noise when you fart, you didn't get reamed quite as bad as you could have. Taco limiteds run what, $45,000 sticker? and you traded it for a $51000 sticker truck.
