When I purchased my 16 Sport a month ago the dealer attempted to sync my phone with the radio. I say attempt, because it never happened all the way. He tried multiple times, asked other salesman to walk out and try and all had no luck. They apologized up and down and really tried to help me out. The issue is that the phone book from my S5 is not synced to the truck. The phone does sync with everything else it seams, but not the phone book. I have a few hundred contacts and when I sync it, it only shows 17. All of the ones that sync are random (I think) and it doesn't matter how many times I delete it and try again, it is always the same contacts that sync. We did however sync my wife units iPhone 4S and my daughter iPhone 5 and all of their contacts imported with out issue. They recommended I try going to Verizon, my service provider and ask them. I hate Verizon, they suck. I hate dealing with them and they NEVER help with anything...ever. I thought I would try here before I have to suck it up and go to the big V.

I had the same issue. There was actually an option on my Bluetooth on my s6 to allow my contacts to be imported on the truck. I thought it was the truck but it wasn't.

Go to Bluetooth set up, then settings, then contact sharing.

Cool, I'll give it a shot!

ETA: It looks like they are both checked.

Maybe your contacts are saved to the phone but androids default is set to a email account.

If you create contacts, it usually has a drop down list of what account you want to save it under.

Interesting, what would i look for in current contacts to know if they are saved to phone? I know they are saved to my Google account. When I switch phones they import right from the Gmail login.

Under each contact, look to see if it shows as saved to Google or connected via Google vs saved to device, ie...

You can also create a new contract and look for the difference, then make sure it syncs with the radio.

All my contacts (Google) sync from my GS7 to the RA4 in my truck correctly.

You can also log into your Google account on a PC and verify that all your contacts show up there. If not then, that is your problem and it's easier to fix/enter on the PC then on a phone.

PS: connect a telemarketer to the "Jolly Roger" number via add caller/conference call/merge call etc and listen in on the all three fun while you waste their time for once!

It says "Connected via Google" along with the little Cloud icon.

I like the first response!

It drives me insane that something that seems so easy doesn't work.

Follow up question:

Is anyone using a S5 with the UConnect? I called UConnect today and they said the S5 is not compatible. Very odd since everything works except the phonebook, and even that is not 100% a failure. I do get 19 contacts to sync. It is always the same 19 and there doesn't appear to be a difference between them and others.

Hi JRam813,

You can also look at Uconnect® | Select your Vehicle to double-check the compatibility with your phone.

While it probably does not matter since i have an older model, but the U-connect works perfectly with my S5 in my 2009. my phone is also upgraded to the latest version of android available for the S5 (Marshmallow).

Samdung seems reluctant to admit to glitches in their "flagship" phones, but it's pretty typical Android nonsense.

Some have been able to smooth things out by going go to Application Manager (on the phone) > More > show system Apps > Bluetooth Share > storage > clear cache. You'll have to re-pair the phone.
