Hey everyone, this is my first post here so hang with me. I'm looking at getting a 2011 1500 with the 5.7, I'm not really sure what trim. It has 137,000 miles and it's super clean but I haven't driven it yet. It has the floor mounted shifter like a car, 20" wheels and body color grill and spray in bed liner. No dents that I can see. Like I said it's very clean, the interior looks new, very small dents in the bed. I guess I was really wondering what problems if any should I be aware of on this truck. I'm pretty sure I can fix most of the problems by myself if they happen (I went to mechanic school for a little bit). The price is $16000 and right now I have VW Golf TDI that Vdub's gonna buy back and I'll get more than half of the price of the truck with that money. This is a truck that I've wanted since I was a kid but couldn't really afford, I guess I could buy new but I want very small payments and something I can pay off before next year. Thanks in advance!

I bought a 2011 Longhorn this past summer with about 64k miles and haven't has issues yet. So far a very strong well built truck.

I don't know man. I'm new in the market but $16k for a truck with 137k on it seems a bit steep. I just got a 2014 4x2 quad cab 1500 lone star for $23k. Had 20k miles only and for $575 dents were taken out and it looks brand-new

I haven't noticed anyone here starting to have problems with their 4th gens yet. Other than the 3rd brake light water leaking, which is a super easy fix.

Just depends on how the truck was used and maintained. I bought my 2010 in March for 10500 with 148k on the clock. The axle has a recall on it I'm pretty sure exhaust manifold bolt/studs are very common and a tricky job if you or a buddy can't weld. The uncommon thing I had to replace on mine was a steering rack, it was all wore out. Is this truck 4wd? Does it have leather? Body color grill in 11 sounds like a sport if it has center console shifter.

Is it 4x4? Do you know the gears? It sounds likely a lot of highway miles it being so young, which is good. But that is like 3 times as many miles as average.

For me, someone that dumps in the 30,000 mile range. That is a lot of miles.
It's not that I don't trust it, but seems priced high. Seems more like a 9 to $10,000 truck. Then again, I'm lost when it comes to used trucks.

You are the guy with the money, that is more rare then used Rams right now. The market is flooded with Rams, I put 2011 Ram in Craigslist and got 461 results. When I put it max price 16k, not so much, mostly slt's or st's. Me personally, I would rather buy a slt with low miles, but you may like all of the options. One thing is for sure, I wouldn't buy it unless it has 3.92's for gears. 3.55's suck. But, these are great trucks bud, won truck of the year 3 out of 4 years during 2010 and up. I would offer a couple grand less to see if they bite if your sold on it, Also, I would pay a mechanic to pop the plugs and take a looky.

I just (yesterday) traded my 2011 in towards my new Rebel. Had 71k miles, 5.7L BigHorn. I accepted 16k for the trade, they started at 13k and we went from there.

Thanks for the reply's everyone! I forgot to say it's 2wd and I'm not sure on the gears. KBB's range is $14000-$19000 so I guess the price is right. 137,000 does seem like a lot for a 5-6 year old truck. Unfortunately there's not a lot of selection around me with the price and mileage that I would like to have. This is the best one that I've seen in a while, if the miles weren't so high I wouldn't have any concerns ha ha!

16k is high for a 2wd. I would say if it's a sport it would be a 13-14k (10-12 for a SLT like bighorn) truck pending service records, how it drives and overall condition. Just my .02 I know used truck vaules greatly pending on your location trucks are plentiful in Texas.

I'm starting to think it is a sport. If I did buy it it would be my fifth purchase from this dealer so I'm sure they would come down some.

I just bought a 2011 Laramie with 85,000 for 22,800 all it needed was a tonnau cover for the rambox and they had a nice one installed for me. Also the carfax showed all the regular maintenance (oil changes etc) and repairs were done at this same dealer in fact the salesman who sold it to me was the original salesman also.

One year ago I bought my 12 5.7 with 60k. It currently has 70,821 on it. I've worked it hard. Zero issues, and a blast to drive. I know if they are taken care of, they will run 200k easy. I have every intention of running mine until it hits 200k and then buying a new one.
