Should I get this truck

Currently have a 2000 Dodge Ram. Been wanting a new to me truck for a while now but haven't pulled the trigger on any. This however just popped up on Craigslist today. Been talking to the guy and there no issues with it.

What do you guys think? Is 160k to many miles for 10000 bucks? Are there any issues with the 09 hemi's or the truck in general? Is the quad cab too small?

Personally I wouldn't buy it,160k,bushings and other stuff just start quitting then.My last dodge ram died at 150k which is terrible.V8 only capable of doing 150k.

My 2009 that I sold to an aquaintance just dropped a valve seat at 155k miles. Cracked the cylinder.

So basically you guys are saying hold off on this one? What's a good 4th gen year to look for? Pretty much 2010+?

I would pass because it has 160,000 and you don't know exactly how it was treated or maintained for all those miles. The trucks are definitely capable of high miles if properly maintained. I have an 03 2500 Hemi with 303,000 with all original Powertrain. The only problem I ever had with the motor was a broken valve spring. I will say I've replaced countless U-joints ball joints and tie rod ends and wheel bearings though

I wonder what the dealer offerd him on trade...he obviously thought he could get more-
It's to much for that many miles. If u personally knew the guy and knew how it was treated .. Maybe.. my buddy has a 08 with 60k miles and he would love to get 11k for his. But sadly for a few thousand more you can get a nice 4th gen.

There are many hemi rams exceeding 200000 miles and a few closing in on 300000 miles without major issues. If this truck has a service records and it looks good I wouldn't be afraid of it. As for price, depends on your area and what similar trucks are going for.

Personally I wouldnt buy anything used with more than 45k if I planned on keeping it for awhile. That being said. For about 2k, you could buy a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty from a dealer..

Manual Transmission??? I didn't know 4th gen 1500's came with Stick lol, but yeah pass on this one bud let us know what else you find we will be more than happy to give our opinions on used Rams lol

I'd be worried about " Got a little surface rust on drivers side rocker". If you seriously consider this RAM take a very close look to ensure it doesn't have more then just "surface rust".
