Unknown plug

I traded 2012 outdoorsman in for a 2013 slt lonestar edition. i removed the grill and found this plug just swinging there, can nybody tell me what its for?

hmm, its corroded like it was plugged into something, but the keys i got with the truck dont have remote start buttons?

I you have remote start, this would plug into a sensor that monitors if your hood is open or not. Open it will not remote start, if its opened when its running from a remote start it shuts the truck down.

It is corroded because it has been exposed to the elements because it's not plugged into anything.

But you can "normal start" the truck with the hood open

Or if your working on the truck and someone remote starts it that can't see the truck.

This has happened to me several times. I don't care for the design of the key fobs. It's to easy to activate them in your pocket.

But your hands aren't in the engine then. Yes, your friend's hands may be in there, but if you are going to intentionally start the truck with his hands in the engine compartment... no amount of fool proofing is going to save your friend from you. :greenchainsaw:

I hate when I lean, causing the horn to honk. I'm now doing my best to keep the keys out of my pockets.

I had my windows roll down on me while I was washing it. Only a little bit of suds got in but it took me a little bit to figure out what happened.
