I'm just about to buy a new 2015 outdoorsman 1500. It sis way to low for me because I have a 2500 mega cab and also just had a 2500CTD and they are both lifted. Inhave been doing alot of reading on this and it seems there have been alot of issues with just a level kit and the upper control arm ball joints popping, I'm thinking about going with a 4" lift and new tires, not sure of the tire size yet because I'm still learning about these 1500's, I've always had HD trucks. Is this ball joint and control arm issue just hen levelling or is it with a lift kit as well? I don't want to have to buy a lift and then also buy the zone upper control arms, anyone have some advice?

My research here and other Ram forums has found a few level kits with spring spacers seemed to have caused upper ball joint popping. "Real' lifts or Bilstein strut leveling does not seem to have the same effect.

I was looking at zone, BDS or superlift 4" lifts with the bilsteins included with the kit, I believe it was 2" in the rear and 4" in the front

Just be careful what kit you buy. The outdoorsman isn't compatible with all of them.

It has a slightly raised front suspension compared to the other models. I've seen a lot of lifts that say "not compatible with outdoorsman models"

Mine should be close to that as well with the 4" kit, mine is also coming with the black 20" rims, I want to keep them instead of aftermarket again, can this be done without rubbing? On my 2500 I could run 37's with no rub

You're not running 37s on stock wheel on a 4".

I don't plan to run 37's at all on this 1500, I was talking about my 2500 diesel. On this new one it would be 35's at most, just wanting to keep the stock wheels.

Wow $2,200 INSTALLED? That's an excellent price for a Zone kit installed !
Where are you located?
I plan on installing my kit myself , but at that price I'd have it installed .
Did that come with an installation warranty?

I'm running the CST kit 4" front spindle, 1.5" rear spacer. It's a 1500 2wd crew cab. Just installed 35 1250 20 mt baja mtz. No rubbing or anything.

So far best investment I've made.

Just had my 4.5" spindle/1.5" rear done this week. Factory 20's on 295/65/20 (35.4") trail grapplers. Looks great, couldn't be happier and absolutely NO rubbing!!

That looks really good, I was considering 6" but the 4" will be good enough for this one and some 35's, I just want to make sure I can keep my stock rims.

I'm thinking I'll need wheel spacers to squeeze 35's under it even with the lift if I want no rubbing from what I'm reading, I like the black stock wheels and want to keep them, they are the full aluminum ones and not the clad whelp if that makes a difference.
