I've been wanting to install a 4" lift on my ram, but I have 50 other projects the wife feels are more important, so I am going to look for someone else to do it for me. What is a fair price to pay for labor to install the lift?

BDS recommend shop in my area wanted $1,300, first local dealer $1,200 and second dealer $1,300. Both dealers said they would do the alignment and recalibrate the speedometer for new tires. The other shop doesn't have the means to do the speedometer recalibration and that is something I'm sure you're going to want.

~10 hrs @ whatever hourly shop labor is, plus alignment.

I just installed a 6" BDS lift on my truck this weekend. Shops here in CA run from around 1000 to 1200 so I decided to do it myself. Although the lift fit pretty well the instructions were vague and hard to follow in my opinion. Some of the pictures in the instructions weren't even applicable to my lift. After fighting the instructions all day and having to buy the programmer for 224.00 to adjust the speedometer I will most likely have it done at a shop if I ever lift another truck. They install the same kits over and over and know exactly what does and doesn't work.

Depends on the area and shop for sure. I had mine installed for $539 with alignment by a certified retailer/installer. I got quotes from 2 other shops, 1st one quoted something like $1100, 2nd was like $950.........3rd one hit the jackpot.

I had a BDS 4" kit installed for $1200. Included alignment. This shop lifts over 40 Rams per year for 3 dealerships. I had cheaper quotes, but they had way less experience. What's $1200 on a new $40k truck that I hope to drive for 10 years?

I went with 35" tires and my speedo is only off by 3 mph. Not worth getting recalibrated.
