I just installed a set of HIDs in my fog lights and only one light comes on. The other one comes on for about 1 second and then goes off, then comes back on about 5 seconds later and then goes off for good. I have switched the bulbs and ballasts around the both work fine on the right side, but won’t work on the left side. I put the factory bulb back in and it works.

I just installed a set of the same lights on my buddies ford and it works just fine. I am going to try and put some bulb grease on tomorrow, but I am stumped on this. Do the fog lights have to have a relay or something light the lows and highs? Has anyone put hids in a 2012 yet?

Thanks!

You swapped them and it still stayed on the one side?

Thats a good one there!

I'm going to ask Todd if he's seen that on these before.

I had an issue with my old eBay HIDs on the fogs - flickered.......but the new ones, no issues - and no harness.

That is weird possessed demon stuff right there! Do you have a multimeter?

The only thing I can think of it's ******* off / overloading something in the CANBUS system. But I have no idea why it would.

Yea I even pulled a ballast and bulb out of my low beam set and tried that and still no luck. Its weird for sure. I heard about flickering, but this isnt the same as what I saw or read about flickering.

Thanks for the help.

Does your trucks have this relay that the fog light harness comes from? I dont remember seeing this on any other vehicles.

I had this happen on my '05 Durango and had to run a wire directly to the battery for both the headlights and fog lights. I still occasionally had issue in cold weather especially. This very reason is why I have been hesitant to "upgrade" my lights the Ram. I love them when they work but not working is not cool at all. Did you get them from JJ? Because I am sure his are a lot better than the ebay ones I had that were cheap but proved their true value.

Yes I got these from JJ and they are WAY better than all the other HID kits I have owned. The quality is great. I also got a set for my buddy for his F250 and we put them in the lows and fogs today and they worked great and are awesome looking. I dont think there is anything wrong with the kit, I think its something with these dodge computer controled lights......

BTW the boxes that the lights come in are crazy cool!!!!! I was supprized to see such a nice case.

You may need a harness. Todd gave me a harness to use but I still haven't installed. Don't keep turning it in and off cause you have the possibility of locking out the ballast.

Have this exact same problem on my 09 headlights w/ 55 watt JJ lights. Tries multiple harnesses, bulbs, ballasts etc. Passenger headlight never worked. I think some of these trucks are super sensitive for some reason and maybe the harnesses I have been using aren't up to snuff. Gave up for now since i haven't had time to hook up the multi meter. I sure miss my HID's

Got my harness in yesterday and everything worked flawlessly. I now have HIDS in the highs, lows, and fogs, and OMG its like a wall of light. I LOVE IT!!!!!!

I cant wait untill I can get the fogs to stay on with the highs. That will make this truck brighter than the old one I had with KC Daylighters....

Thanks JJ for all your help. I was able to get all 3 harnesses in without to many problems. I had to make the ground wires longer and reverse the polarity of H11 plug that was on the harness as it was opposite of my factory H11 plug in. Dodge does not make these trucks friendly for people who want to modify anything.

I am very happy with my lights.....

Thanks Again!
