First load of yard work on the new truck

not even 400 miles yet and the tailgate cap(black cover over the tailgate cracked on one side and is kind of loose. I placed double sided tape for now, however how much is the part and how hard is it to change it?

im thinking the home depot guy broke it as he was loading the 40 bags of rock for me, however its too late now.

They are about $80 on Amazon the P/N was hard to find I replaced the one on my 14 I drug a bag of concrete out and ripped mine off. Probably the most abused item on a truck.

Edit: found it again and the price has dropped. https://www.amazon.com/Dodge-1500-Tailgate-Spoiler-Protector/dp/B00NGZ5SLM this is. Double sided tape one but you can always add the plastic rivets of you want but I never had issues with the doubled sided tape on mine.

Thanks a lot guy, i located the part number with the rivets, I was just hoping the truck quality is not like this, were the plastics break this easy.

I don't think there is any plastic that is not going to break when you run a forklift into it lol.

no they wanted to place the pallet in the truck, i declined so he raised it over the truck and they climbed into the bed and unloaded it from there. I believe he damaged it when he was exiting the bed back onto the fork lift.
