I used DDM as well and after cutting the mounting tabs off the ballasts, I was able to fit all then new wiring inside the headlight assembly. No hole drilling required.

I assume you have the standard halogen relector headlights and not the projectors, no way it fits inside the projector housing.

Morimoto hi and low HIDs w/ FXR projector swap from JJ @ retroshop. I dare ya to stare directly into them in person for 60 seconds lol.

I have factory projectors and fit the ddm kit completely in the housing without cutting off the tabs. So yes there is a way

I kept mine out, I wasn't sure if the ballast would get to hot to be inside the housing. If I have to pull them off again I might try tucking them in. I just got the ddm kit in the fogs also and it looks great. They even sent me free license plate lights!
