I know that some of you definitely know this answer. How should the HID bulb return wire be pointed in oem projectors?.....up or down? I remember the oem projector’s bulb holder is not intended for HID bulbs and their return wire, so as a result you can end up with a shadow when your low beams are on from the return wire. I rather not have that if I can help it. Also, has anyone managed to correct it somehow?.....for example, clipping the HID bulb tabs to allow you to put the HID bulb’s return wire in at a different location? I appreciate the help/advice! :favorites13:

Should be down, its possible to get it right, remove the 3 screws on the bulb retainer, place bulb properly and reinstall the holder

Can you give me a little more info on where this wire is you are talking about?
I installed a hid kit in the projectors in my rebel, so the tabs aligned up in the oem locations, and I do not have any shadows, just a lot more light.

It's the wire that runs along the glass. It has a ceramic coating I think. Might even be a ground of sorts. Broken wire, no light.

Sorry, I thought most knew what the return wire was on a HID bulb. Below is a pic of it, but in this pic it is just called the "ceramics tube".

I'm thinking about putting a set of HID's in my 2015 Laramie, what make or part number did you install?
