Puddle Light Wire Location?

I have the puddle lights on my '14 Sport (the white LEDs under the sideview mirror that light up during entry) and I recently installed some running boards/bars and also picked up some SMD LED strips that I'm going to attach to the underside of the bars. I'd like to wire these in with the puddle lights so they come on with them to illuminate more of the ground area of the truck. Does anybody happen to know the best location to tap this wire?

I have yet to rip out any panels near where the door wiring harness comes in, but I'm assuming that's probably where I'll have to start checking wires for voltage if nobody else has better info.

Mine is a 2015 2500 but may be the same so try this. Remove the drivers side dash panel. The one next to the door not the one under the dash. There will be a green connector. The wire for the courtesy/dome light should be yellow w/violet stripe.

Look at the bottom of the tilt motor
Then look almost dead center on the bottom
That thing that looks like a slot, is a clip that holds the puddle lamp in on the earlier 4th Gen mirrors
Now look just to the left of that clip, do you see the the Red & 2 Blue wires that are almost hidden.

All of the mirror wiring comes up through the mirrors swivel point
