I have a 2014 2500 SLT with 275/70R18 and im currently on my 4th set of tires in 76k miles fixing to buy my 5th set. I've had the factory Firestones on it lasted about 18k till the cords were showing, 1 set of Cooper AT3's less than 20k till cords showed, now 2 sets of Nitto terra G2's both less than 20k and bald. I have had two alignments done by RAM dealership most recent alignment was done when the track bar mount recall was performed and i put the current set of Nitto's on the truck. I took the truck in for its annual state inspection and it failed due to worn ball joints. So i took it the dealership, since i purchased an extended warranty, to have them replaced and have an alignment done before i bought my 5th set of tires. Dealership says the ball joints do have play but are "in spec" so they cant do anything about it. I wish someone could explain why this thing eats up tires so bad. This truck has 100% highway miles there is no reason for this abnormal wear.

I have a 2016 3500 with 7560 miles that's doing the same thing. I rotated the tires at 4k and noticed it, but thought it was the tire pressure being too low. I put it up to 77/78 psi and now the ones that where on the back are feathering on the outside too. I called the dealership and they said it's normal, but I can come in and they can check the alignment.

Tire wear alignment issue

I finally found the fix to the problem. All I had to do is email THUREN FAB after over 2 years of searching.

Set your toe at 0, has fixed the tire scrub for me and I actually picked up 0.5 mpg. This just shows how bad the factory specs are
