Has anyone had any issues with their backup cameras when driving in the rain?

I've had it twice. Pics were taken last week after driving in the rain on the interstate. I always back up after washing it and have never noticed it messing up. Works fine any other time.

Nothing electrical at all. Just tires and tonneau, mud flaps, etc.

The dealer will try to blame the mudflaps!!! lol

Check the harness that goes from the body to the tailgate, it may be loose. If that is loose, the tailgate may not be locking either.

Also, I just remembered that the dash lights flickered bad if I had them turned down low while on a trip driving in the rain one time. Haven't driven in the rain at night since. Coincidence? I'll have to search some wiring diagrams and see if the two meet somewhere besides the BCM.

Maybe spend the time with the dealer first. They may or may not help, but at least you have it on record before you try anything. THAT might tick them off and give them an escape clause, correct or not.

Check the connector between the tailgate and truck bed, make sure it is secure and is sealed.

In the past some cameras have leaked around the lens in the tailgate handle causing this type of problem.

One other location would be to remove the inspection plate on the tailgate and check the camera connector near the tail gate handle.
