how do you change exterior door handles...im stuck

I got some painted ram exterior door handles but I cant figure out how too install them...help please

I followed the door panel removal procedure above, but thats just a cover, now behind that I have this.

I changed them on my silverado and always accessed from inside

It's a pain in the ass. Lol. You have to pull back the plastic covering. And then slowly remove the nuts by reaching your hand in a turning them with whatever you can get to fit.

thats not a plastic thin weather cover, its thick plastic that the actual window channel appears to be attached too, different than 3rd gen

That's weird. No bolts or anything you can see to get the door off on the inside?

that black plastic was held on by like 12 outer perimeter bolts, removed those and it still wouldnt come off.

looks like you have to remove the window glass and all, everything on this truck is a pain to work on.

that sucks that it is that much work.....for some reason i thought the express came with color matched handles....i learned something new today.

Nope never did Mando...after loudly saying POS 3-4 times in the driveway....I put the plastic panels back on and gave up. Guess Im going to have to pay someone to install these....sucks, you know how I hate to let anyone work on my trucks.

Man that is no good. Im also suprised it hasnt been done before but I guess alot of people are just tossing the stick on covers on it.

your not the first to do this. ive read before someone got fed up on the first one and drilled some large holes in it to get to it with a socket and extension. i think he said 1st door took 2 hours, other 3 doors too 45 minutes combined. haha.
i looked at this a few weeks ago when i did my bumpers and mirrors and decided then that im just going to tape off my whole truck and spray them while there one it. itll be easier than trying to remove them.

at least you dont have to worry about someone using a screw drvier and breaking into your truck like the 3 gens did.

well look at the bright side, thats a quality interior panel, looks like theres also some sound deadening properties to it. i didnt know our rams were built that well. if you couldve easily accessed the handle, build quality wouldve been alot less impressive. id love to change my handles also, but some things u just gotta live with
