It looks like the power wagon comes with 4.56 gears and rides on 285/70-17 tires which is roughly a 32.5 inch tire. Anybody know if this ratio would be similar to a standard 2500 with 265's running 4.10's? Reason I ask is that I am thinking about 4.56s on my standard 2500 but I already have 285s on and I'm guessing the setup would be roughly like running 4.10s with factory sized 265s. Am I close on this one? Many thanks fellas!

You'd be fairly close, the Powerwagon is still got a lot more gear though.

3749 RPM PowerWagon locked in 4th (1:1) at 80 MPH
3488 RPM 265's with 4.1s, same situation as above

32.7" Tire vs 31.6" isn't a whole lot of change in diameter.

How would the PW have more gear if we both had 4.56 s and same size tires, should be the same, no?

I thought you wanted a comparison between a 265 w 4.10s and 285 with 4.56?
There would be 0 difference PW to Normal 2500 with same Gears & Tires.

Maybe I'm missing something.

Oh I gotcha, what I was wondering was if I had 4.56s with 285s, would that be like 4.10s with 265's. I already have 285s and am planning on 4.56s

285 is as big as you wanna go IMO for a Hemi and 4.56's, I've tried 4 sizes including 35,s and went back to the 285,s. 4.10,s and 265,s would be a good combo. Now 265's E rated with 4.56 would be perfect for Towing anything over 7k lbs with the Hemi.

If you already have 4.10's, then I would stick with them. If you currently have 3.73's, then the 4.56's will really help bring the truck to life.

4.56's are the ticket. They will make your truck feel like a half ton.
