What do you guys think of the el-cheapo ebay intakes? I know they are metal which will heat soak a lot more than plastic, right? Is it that big a deal, or should I just continue to save. Does anyone have one on theirs? Thanks

Btw, I would probably get a better filter for it. Like a K&N. Don't wanna cheap out too bad...

I know they were pretty popular on the 3rd gens so I could picture them being ok for the newer ones also. Is Spector making any yet? Those were cheap and just add a better filter.

If it's metal you can get some heat resistant paint and paint it and it will help lower the temps

OK I saw one of these in person, and damn was it hot.

But I may get one still. I'd be worried to have one too low on my lowered truck to suck the massive water we get down here up of the road. May just get a shorter one eventually to be an intake (minus the cold air part haha)

It seemed pretty hot to me, but it was also the uber cheap model and on a 4.7

I will be getting one, but not now I have already been spending too much on the truck lately I need to recover for a bit

When I had one on my '04 I was seeing insanely high IAT readings.

Damn that would be super cheap but I doubt I'm resourceful enough to make a decent kit. I'd get frustrated too quick.
