Anyone near me in Central NJ that has a mufflex setup either 14 or 18? I would really like to hear it in person before I order one. I'm leaning towards the 14 but not sure if it'll be too loud

I helped a member install one and I was amazed how quiet it was. I ordered the 24 for my truck, but the 14 just sounds like a muscle car and is pretty quiet IMO. Did you check out YouTube? It's actually a pretty good representation of the sound.

Yeah I watched a bunch of the clips. So you don't think the 14 will end up being too loud after it breaks in?

Wife hated it though.........so I got a cutout and slapped the stock muffler back on. Love that combo

I have the 14 magnaflow and it is quite, after I changed out the y-pipe inside the truck you almost can't tell its on unless you floor it. I am station at McGuire if you wanted to hear it.

What town are you from? I have a flowmaster super 40 if you would like to compare that to other vidoes you have seen or other mufflers in general

See now this is what confuses me. All the videos I've seen of the 14 the trucks sounds somewhat loud. But all you guys are saying the 14 is quiet! Lol

I am in NYC, and have a delete. I think it is pretty tame as well compared to my 85 350 with longtubes, and no cats, and that had a flowmaster 40 series on it.

My gf likes the new sound of the truck but even she thinks it sounds wimpy compared to the old chev lol.

Yeah, quiet probably isn't the best word to use, but it's not mind numbingly loud either. You could carry on a conversation while under hard acceleration for sure. Remember, the resonators help reduce the volume a bit too.

I went with the 24" because I have VERY young kids and want to be able to hear them talk to me. I was unsure how loud it would be when I bought it, and then I put the 14" on the truck and was amazed how not super loud it was. I live in a neighborhood and I like my neighbors across the street. I leave at 6am and they have YOUNG children too. I want a nice growl and I think the 24" will do just that. My G8 is going to be the stupidly loud vehicle in the house. Full Corsa with long tubes, Cam, and head work... Yeah... FUN!

Yeah I don't want obnoxiously loud. I just wanna be able to hear it and know that its not the stock muffler. I like the way the truck sounds stock. Just want it to be a lil louder

Go with the 24" or the 18" then... 24" will give you a deeper more menacing sound over stock. Keep in mind, Magnaflow will get slightly louder over time.

Isn't it the longer the muffler the quieter it is? So won't the 24 be really quiet?

I'm gonna go and get the muffler done on Sat at Mufflex at 9am. They install it for $40 if you go there so I figure I'll do that! They said they have 2 trucks scheduled to get done at 8am so I'll actually be able to hear the 14 that they're putting on then decide what I wanna go with
