I just bought my used 2012 ram 1500 Reg Cab with only 32k miles on it in the beginning of December. Part of the deal was 8 free oil changes. I made sure the free oil changes were going to be full synthetic. I just hit 1,000 miles since I got it so I'm not even do for my first oil change yet, but I'm definitely set for the next 3+ Years on oil changes [emoji16] [emoji16]

What do you do with the waste oil? Around here we used to have garage row businesses who would take it for free to burn for heat but they stopped.

My local dump has a tank to dispose of it for free. I keep it in a big jug and then take it down and dump it in.:homoswitch:

This forum is usually a pretty friendly and helpful place.
I think the point being made was that it generally costs a whole lot more than 20 bucks to do an oil change on a Hemi truck. Whether you do it yourself or not.
The average user on this forum shouldn't expect to pay a whole lot less.

If you lucked out and found the right sale one time, great.
But surely you're not putting 0W40 in your truck.
10W30 is nearly double the price of 0W40 on average.

A quick check at Walmart online shows it at about $10/quart.
With 7 of those and about $10 bucks for a cheapy filter, you're looking at closer to $80 on average.

I'd be impressed if you found PUP in 10W30 for 2 bucks.
Heck, I'd be impressed at 4 bucks, but I do know you guys have some great sales down there sometimes.

Either way, anyone expecting to pay 20 bucks for a full synthetic oil change is likely going to be very disappointed.

amazing how things appear after details come out huh? Good for, you lucked out with a cleraance sale, why not say that in your orginal post so others can get in on it. The d-bag aint me homie.

however, i want to play too.......tell me if I do it right......

My last 3 oil changes cost me about $7.50 each. I use 7 quarts of pennzoil ultra platinum synthetic 5w-20, fram synthetic filter and about 30 minutes of my time.......and no, these arent free dealership oil changes.

My price is the lowest and i'm giving no details on how i did it, so i win, right? i'm not getting hosed, right.....right?? :happy107:

$93 is pretty steep, especially for part synthetic. I purchase my oil 5-20 Pennz Platinum at Walmart 7 quarts is about $40 and I get Purolater filters at my local Car Quest for less than $10. Lots of chain parts stores take used oil.
Save $43 and do it yourself takes all of 15-20 minutes and I don't even have to jack up my 2wd to get under it.

I know in your mind you are coming off as the Alpha know it all but in all seriousness, if you are fighting everybody, most times you are the problem and coming off as the "********".

The main discussion and launch point from the OP's first post was about price difference between oil change shop retailers, not what a DIY'er can penny pinch on sale oil bought from once in a blue moon clearance sale.

So I can see why someone would question the low oil price you claimed and rather than be civil, you got to have a shove it in your face reply with name calling to round the reply out. Seems to be a common theme with you.

I am sure you will have some snarky reply but it needed to be said.

wow, another internet keyboard warrior, bravo my friend, bravo.

The fact is, you're the douche bag pal. Your response to the OP was useless and provided nothing relevant to the thread. Typical from you, as I understand it. Perhaps you have reading comprehension issues, who knows. All you wanted to do is puff out your chest and show how you lucked out with some oil on clearance, which again, had nothing to do with the thread.....bravo buddy, bravo.......and as the other guy said, you provided no info on how you did it......good job looking out for your fellow ram owners !!! Then, after he called you out on that fact, you reference a thread from 2 years ago and call somebody names like a child...... wow, just wow......

You my friend, are a special, special kind of stupid.

op, i agree, 93.00 sounds like a lot of dollars at a quick lube place. i would rather let a local mechanic do it for close to the same price.
