Canadian Vehicles sold used into the U.S

Hey everyone how's it going, Looking for a little information, hopefully someone can help.
I purchased an 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 P/U the other day, The truck is totally awesome, shows 59,000 on the odometer, the lot which sold the truck mentioned that the cluster was removed and the face plates changed out to English from the Metric (Canadian) one that was on the vehicle. I checked the odometer calibration with the overhead trip meter in the Eng mode and the numbers matched mileage wise while I was driving. The reason Im questioning this is that this truck is so clean underneath interior wise etc. when pulling the cluster, and (maybe making the switch between Metric to English does the numbers stay the same between switching Or, does the cluster record miles in Eng regardless weather in either mode.

The overhead cluster is USA and Metric. Example 24.5 L per 100 Km or press us and it goes something like 10 MPG US. Hope that answers your question.

I beleive our Safety standards / glass is more stringent, however lots of Canadians been bringin in US cars no problem lately as they are more expensive up here. An example of how outragious it is is my Magnum For example 05 R/T and the Dealer Bill/window/sticker said the Guy Paid 42,900 for the Car new in 2005 which I think was like 30 in the USA.

I know it doesnt matter what cluster you put in, the recorded miles will remain the same. The cluster only shows what mileage the brain has recorded.

You cant take a cluster out of a low mileage truck and put it in a high mileage truck to lower the shown mileage....lol

I read the PCM is flashed for country of sale and if it is "Canada" then the Daylight Running lights are activated and the speedo reads Kilometers. I didn't think the cluster actually needed changing.

Oh Ya Daytime Lights we got those as Law startin in 1989. So if your Parking and you want them off you have to apply the park Brake (Cops do that!)

I actually like the idea and run with my fogs on all the time which I wired to a seperate switch.
