Alright guys, I need some professionals to the rescue...

I go to get in my truck, crank it up, letting it run for a few minutes, when I apply the brakes to take it out of park, it won't budge!

After mashing the brakes fully and putting a little elbow greese on the gear shift, nothing is happening...help!

Is there something I need to check, fuse, linkage something under the dash or under the truck maybe??

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks...

The first thing I would check is to see if your brake lights are working. If they're not it's probably the brake light switch located behind the pedal which controls your brake lights but also sends a signal to the shift interlock solenoid that releases the gear shifter. That shift interlock solenoid could also be bad. I would also check for any loose wires or connections below the driver's side dash before buying any replacement parts. :welcome:

I would recommend reading the service manual for information as there is a lot of combinations of how it works.
Here is a little I found that might help.
BTSI FUNCTION CHECK
(1) Verify removal of ignition key allowed in PARK
position only.
(2) When the shift lever is in PARK, the ignition
key cylinder should rotate freely from off to lock.
When the shifter is in any other position, the ignition
key should not rotate from off to lock.
(3) Shifting out of PARK should be possible when
the ignition key cylinder is in the off position.
(4) Shifting out of PARK should not be possible
while applying normal force, and ignition key cylinder
is in the run or start positions, unless the foot
brake pedal is depressed approximately 1/2 inch
(12mm).
(5) Shifting out of PARK should not be possible
when the ignition key cylinder is in the accessory or
lock position.
(6) Shifting between any gear and NEUTRAL, or
PARK, may be done without depressing foot brake
with ignition switch in run or start positions.
(7) Engine starts must be possible with shifter
lever in PARK or NEUTRAL positions only. Engine
starts must not be possible in any position other than
PARK or NEUTRAL.

With the engine off, crawl under the truck, disconnect the cable shift linkage from the transmission shift selector, pops off with a screw driver and by hand see if the shift selector linkage shifts through the gears. If not your internal mechanical linkage to the parking brake pawl is jammed or broken.
