All nice mods, you'll like the XR1 so much more than the FM. But just picking up an SC3865 for the hell of it? Seems a little out of place since your next mod is a cam unless you are looking for one that will run on an SC tune, otherwise you'll eithr have to pick up SCT as well or go back to the DSP.

Cam will not be until spring at the earliest now. I just keep reading about how everyone likes the SC, so I thought I would give it a try. I am going to get the trans tuning for the SC.

If I like the SC better than the DSP, I will sell the DSP. If I like the DSP better, then I will sell the SC. I am still back and forth on what cam to get anyway, so if I like the SC I will get a cam that is friendly with it.

I have a cam and run a SC.

If I were into the track, it would be DSP hands down.

If you're more of a street guy anyway, the SC trans tunes make the truck a lot more fun to drive, despite the loss of custom tuning.

I will post pics when the stuff comes in.

I will also try to do a comparison between the SC and DSP. Maybe document 0-60 and 1/4 mile times with both, keeping all of the same other mods for a good comparison.

RF, you have had both DSP and SC haven't you? What are your thoughts on the difference between the 2? Why DSP for the track and SC for street? I am just curious to hear your thoughts on this.

dsp for custom tuning at the track

Sc for the street because of the trans tunes. Peak hp/tq is great, but not important for typically everyday driving. My trans tune keeps my powerband exactly where I want it all the time. I'll never give that up.

Thanks RF. I am looking forward to getting the SC so I can see how this trans tuning works. I know changing the shift points on my DSP made it more fun to drive.

All nice mods. Personally, I think you will like the sc more than dsp. I've run both and have better performance from the canned sc tunes over the canned dsp tunes.

I'll have to find Sil's DIY on the swaybar over on DT.

BIG thing to remember - unclip the damn brake line on the rear axle before you put the clamp on! I took Sil's advice on that one, and I can definitely see where if you don't pay 110% attention, it could easily be overlooked.........and hosed up.
