I drive a 2003 2500 cummins 4x4 auto tranny and just today I have noticed that under hard acceleration I get a very loud clicking noise coming from somewhere under my truck. It seems to be accelerating smoothly and fine. I visually checked and nothing out of the ordinary and I grabbed ahold of the drive shaft to check for play and there wasn't any in any of the joints. It's just odd because it just happens under hard acceleration. If I accelerate slow it doesn't do it. Also when I am at speed it stops. And to my knowledge it only does it in forward and not in reverse. Anyone have any ideas or have had similar problems before? What should I check next?
