I haven't checked this out much but I have been told that New London Dragway is doing street night. Anyone have any information about this. Anyone want to come out and play? When I get home I'll post more information. I'm still on travel and should be home mid week. I need to get this done as I'm wrapping up to go overseas for the next six months. Bear, I know you are close by and I still owe you a beer.

Oh yeah, I want a time slip before closing down this year. I would be happier with a 1/4 mile track, But this will work.

New London is a decent track, Ive heard mixed reviews on the track prep and such. Ive been there, just never run there. Natural Bridge is a little further away, but usually is a pretty decent track.

July 31st, on my calendar now! I might even run the 'Rango for the hell of it!

Have you ever taken it down a track VA? If you are still having traction issus now, you are going to have some fun keeping her straight off the tree...

No I have never had Red on the track. I'm looking forward to it. I have to get busy as I want a chasis tune before I go. I just got home from a 2 week trip so I hope nothing pops up to get in the way.

My favorite is possum grease, really gets them rollin over. Then a light coating stick'um. It'll really line them up at the BBQ stand.

Update, had a good time but these folks are not very well organized. The timing computer was broke and they could not give out time slips. They used the tree to stage, but hand flagged the starts. This turned the whole thing into a grudge race. Fun, but not what I was really looking for. I ended up using my AeroForce Intercepter to time my runs. After I practiced launching I was pretty constant with 9.33 to 9.57. The strip has a concrete launch pad which ended just before the second gear shift which caused wheel spin a couple times. There was a 06 Ford street pickup that wanted to race, we ran, and it wasn't even close. He left for home early. I ran a couple street Mustangs, one I beat and the other got me hard on second gear but didn't pull me after that. Interesting point is my best runs I hit my rev limiter just as I crossed the traps. 1/8th mile, top of second gear. This racing thing can become addictive. Anyway had great fun.

Ah it was only an 1/8 mile track? Damn I was hoping to see some 1/4 mile times. Oh well, the strip can be very addicting, after my first pass with the truck I was hooked.

Yes it is additive. I saw a lot of cars that had been street cars and had evolved to some kind of outlaw class used for local racing. IMO, some of these cars are both very fast and dangerous. There were a lot of rangers, S-10's, nova's, camaro's, mustang's, duster's with big motors. Believe me these cars are real animals. Reminded me of the old days in So. Calif. with folks running Alters and Gassers. I am very glad to be just a street guy.

I can't believe I missed this bro!! The ol' lady had one of them Mary Kay parties here at the house, so I got the hell outta dodge! Went to the lake and commenced to getting too drunk to fish anymore (yeah, didn't know that was possible)! I told ya New London won't really worth a ****. But those are still some good times you rolled out. Hell, you woulda walked my old stang, best I squeezed was a 9.48 @ 75mph, but with a 2.24 60', which puts me at around your times if I got that short time down to a 2.0 or so....

At least you had some fun, and yes, you are definately hooked now. Natural Bridge is a little further away for you, but well worth it usually. Busy track, but you still tend to get in 5+ runs easy.

Good news bad news

New London has another day of testing and tuning Aug 14. Gate opens at 1pm. New London Dragstrip

I would like to go but my new SC3865 isn't loaded yet. SuperChip is trying to update a file for me. So it will come down to the wire tomorrow whether SC will be ready to load or not. That's the bad news, the good news is a job got cancelled so I have the weekend to play.

Ya outta skip New London and ride on out with me and my brother and a couple other folks to Dinwiddie. Its the closest 1320 track to us, besides Rockingham maybe. I don't have anything to run, but my brother and his crew are running his mustang, a G35 coupe, and we're hoping his REAL high hp 4banger buddies wanna take the ride as well. Nothing like watching 10sec wrong-wheel-drive cars spin the first half of the track, then set the back half on fire! ;)
