Trip,
Bit of an overkill. I did mine with help on a rack in about 4 hours not counting the sway bar and bags. However since you have the bed off what about going ahead and getting the "c" notch done?

As you I hijacked these pictures, but this is something I'm planning.

Cant do a C-Notch. 2/4.5 is as low as I can go with a 4wd. 3/5 and 4/6 drops use the C-notch. If I go that low, Ill destroy my CV joints. It might be more than I need, but it couldn't hurt.

You may not have to pull it out of the stall each night. Most of the hobby shops have a $2.50 fee to store it inside overnight.

Would be nice! I still have to inquire, cause Ive never used the stalls for over 3-4 hours. But hopefully your right. The install will go alot faster if I have help, but I'm not sure cause most of my buddies work dayshift down in my hangar, and the shops only open 8-7.

This is going to be sweet. Definately take lots of pics. Having the bed off will make for great shots for others to understand it better.

Helper Bags are here. Here's a shot

I also received a brand new set of McGaughy's 2" (really it's 1.5") drop shackles. Will sell for $40 plus shipping(prolly 3-6 bucks) if anyone wants them.

1. Lift the truck, put jackstands under the frame in front of the rear suspension.
2. Remove the tires.
3. Jack the rear axle up a lil to relieve pressure on the leaf springs.
4. Remove the bolts on the shackles on each side.
5. Grease the new drop shackles a lil.
6. Install them and lightly tighten the bolts.
7. Reinstall the tires, and unjack the truck.
8. Torque down the Shackles bolts.
9. Retorque the bolts after about 500-1000 miles.

Not too complicated.

Don't need to remove the wheels, I didn't when I installed a set on my 08.

I put a drop hitch in, jacked up the rear from there. Got under the truck, removed the bolts and shackles, reinstalled new ones.
