I put these tail lights on. The plug fit fine and the lights work, but I was wondering if any one could tell me how to wire the LEDs. I have tap connectors, I just need a pin out of what wires to splice into.

What brand are they if you know. Knowing that I might be able to give you some directions.

They are Spyder. From what I read on an email from spyder, red is turn signal and brake, blue is brake, and white is ground. So I need to know two things. 1. Do i twist both reds both blues and both whites together and then splice them into the factory plug? 2. I need to know the pin outs or colors on the plug to splice them with the right wires.

Fun time. Yes you will want to twist the same colored wires together. As far as the factory plug goes just turn on the lights and get a multi-meter and check voltage. Now It has been a while for me but I believe the center wire should be ground. With just the parking lights turned on one of the other 2 will have 12 volts on it (give or take a couple volts). Hope this helps out but I will look online and see if I can find more info for you.

Thanks man I appreciate it. I was going to do the multimeter check this weekend, but I wanted to post this to see if someone knew the pin outs or what wire is which. Now when I splice, I will splice into the plug that plugs into the tail light right? Because there is a couple plugs before the ending plug...

Yup splice into the wires going into the plug itself. Shoot just remembered this, did the lights come with new bulbs, and holders with a wireloom already attached?? If it did then that is the best place to do your splicing. That way you can take them inside and solder the wires together for a better splice (if you feel comfortable). Those wire taps are ok but make sure to either shrinkwrap them or use some liquid tape to coat them from the elements.

Ok then just remove the light harness with the bulb holders out of the one you are replacing and use that one. Splice into it instead of the main wire harness. It is cheaper to get a new light harness than the whole bed harness.:badger_1:

It worked out good. For anyone else who reads this here is what you need for an 03, not sure what other years have the same pin outs on the plug. Signal is always hot by the way.
