Hell everyone,

I have a 2500 5.7L that is giving me code P2302, P2305 and P2308 and the truck is running rough. The code references ignition coils 1,2 and 3 that are not working. Checked the resistance on all three coils and the reading is 9 Ohms which is the same as a new coil that I purchased.

Truck history, truck has approximately 140K miles, had # 8 cylinder fail and replaced it along with having the head rebuilt. No other issues in the trucks history.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,:roflsquared:

welcome the first step is always to pull spark plugs and inspect gap hope you stick around for more than one question 90% is always poor maintenance

It is likely additional coil failures. You already had one go. At that mileage the rest are not far behind. Check the spark plugs too though. Don't go pulling the valve covers yet. Valve springs are not the cause of every misfire. And they won't set an ionization code.

Have you tried swapping coil packs to see if the code follows the "bad" coil pack? If the codes stay the same then I would clean/freshen the coil pack bolt holes to ensure there is a clean ground to the cylinder head. Also check the ground straps on the back of both heads, electrical connectors/pins and check for cracked or damaged wiring between the coil packs and PCM.

:welcome:

im at over 270k miles on my 05 and am still running the same stock coil packs.... I agree with above...swap coil packs and see if the problems follow...hate to throw money on coil packs when you can check the other stuff for free before throwin money at it...

Subscribed. I'd check all the spark plugs to see if they all look the same, move the coils around and then check the springs.
