Overheating

Need some help, got 2002 Ram 1500 4.7... Out of nowhere as I start the truck my oil gauge jumps to half and stays there, than after half day of driving my temperature is going to three quarters?? Anybody had this problem ??? Thanks

Oil gauge sounds normal. Should run at halfway mark. It is just an idiot gauge. Far as cooling system, I would start with a good flushing of the whole system. Then new coolant. Check all hoses, fan clutch and water pump.

AND radiator cap... It can be something as simple as that.

Be sure to get OEM, I was chasing overheating problems, when through 3 Advanced Auto caps all with issues.
