[Q] Upgrading Software Version & Nav ?

Hey folks

Just picked up a 2014 RAM 1500 with Software Version 14.05.3 and NaviServer 9.10.2.337961

How can I find out if there is an update out for those? Does it require a trip to dealership or is it a DIY job through USB/SD card?

Enter your VIN and the website will tell you if you have and radio software updates available: Uconnect® Software Update - Update your Uconnect® System

Check for nav updates here: Chrysler Group | Home | HERE

Radio updates are free but nav map updates cost money and are only updates every couple of years.

I tried to do mine with the usb, I downloaded the update from the website and followed all the instructions. My radio froze on the uconnect screen. It wouldn't do anything no sound, music, phone nothing. I brought it to the dealer they couldn't fix it and had to order me another radio. Just throwing that out there!

If you plan to update the Nav wait for the 2017 update, They said it would be available around February 2017.

I've done multiple updates myself and never had a problem.
