12V Cigarette lighter

So this may be a dumb question, and I'm fairly certain that is does supply power and ground, but when you plug something into it, is it grounding and giving power?

yeah LOL you just answered your own question.

the middle part in the socket is power and the sleeve is the ground.

The spring loaded center is the power and there is a fuse inside of it
The prongs on the outside are your ground

Does your 2012 have a cig lighter? Mine just has power outlets. would love to be able to use the center console one with a lighter. is that possible?

You can use a plug in any of them you just have to buy one anymore
