Getting picture out of head unit from back up camera in mirror

Hi,

I just installed a Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS double din headunit in my 2014 with the XSVI 6523 NAV harness. I have the rear view camera in the mirror and it is not feeding the headunit but when I put it in reverse the screen goes black. What could be the problem.

It's a setting in the head unit. You will need to scroll through and tell the unit what you want it to do when...

It has nothing to do with any settings. The camera is connected to the mirror, not the radio. If you want the image to show up on the radio, you will need to re-route the video signal to your radio.

I've read about tapping into the rear camera harness. Does anyone have pics of this process?

I had a 5600 that did the same thing. In the menu there is a camera setting option. Try the battery setting.

Edit... Didn't see it was in the mirror.
