depends on voltage and current accepted by the led.
V = supply voltage (12V)
UL = max voltage of the led element (Volt)
IL = max current accepted by led element (Ampere)
R = resistor value needed (Ohm)
P = dissipated power of the R (Watt)
R = (V - UL)/IL (Ohm)
P = R.IL.IL (Watt)
but i suppose aftermarket led tail lights have their own resistor?
