Mine is the same way, and i have no clue why. i know my phone was set on military time but idk if that would have anything to do with it.
Are these text messages from you or sent to you? If these are sent to you, are the senders in the same time zone?

Have you received a txt from anyone in the central time zone. I could send you a txt so you can see what time stamp you get

I'm guessing it is the UTC time stamp. The UTC time code is used to sync all the phone servers handling the communications. Your time zone is -4 hours from UTC, when DST ends it will be -5
Your phone does the conversion where as the radio just reads the data and displays it.
Make sure the correct time zone and Daylight Savings is set correctly in the radio and phone. Is there a way to correct this, if this is the problem?
