I've noticed that when I get a text message it will show an incorrect time. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Here is a pic of an example showing current time and the text coming in at a differnt time.

Mine is the same way, and i have no clue why. i know my phone was set on military time but idk if that would have anything to do with it.

I thought it could be my phone at first and it was set to the correct time. I use an iPhone set on 12h format.

Are these text messages from you or sent to you? If these are sent to you, are the senders in the same time zone?

They are text messages from my friends to me. The example in the pic above was from my wife to me.

Have you received a txt from anyone in the central time zone. I could send you a txt so you can see what time stamp you get

I'm guessing it is the UTC time stamp. The UTC time code is used to sync all the phone servers handling the communications. Your time zone is -4 hours from UTC, when DST ends it will be -5
Your phone does the conversion where as the radio just reads the data and displays it.

I appreciate the thought, but it happens on all texts. I have a few friends in different time zones and get the same problem.

Is there a way to correct this, if this is the problem?

Make sure the correct time zone and Daylight Savings is set correctly in the radio and phone.
Unfortunately if this is the issue, it will not be correctable from a user level. This is something that would have to be changed in the radio programming.

I was driving my tuck tonight and got a text and the time stamp matched the current time. Not sure it helps but I also have the uconnect access which might set the correct time stamp.

Mine does not display the correct time either. Was curious to see if this could be correct but couldn't find anything.

Mine does this also, but as long as I get the text to get some milk on the way home, the wife is happy.
