Hi all, I have an 02 ram 1500 with the 5.9. My alternator has previously been tested off the truck. I replaced battery 6 months ago with an advance auto AGM battery.

The alternator seems to be running intermittently. Sometimes my voltage gague stays above the middle line steadily with sub and amp running. Other times, the gague will drop below the middle line, at which point I shut my system off. I also have a parasitic drain that will drain the battery if not run for over a week.

I have done the big-3, and am running an amp that will output a true 1000 watts.

I had been thinking of upgrading from the 136 amp alternator to the higher output durango alt (160?). Possibly eventually adding a second battery.

I have read of a few ppl having PCM issues, just trying to figure out where to start. Has anyone had a similar issue?

Thanks!
