help with rear differential

I have a 2004 5.7L hemi my rear differential has gone out. I'm not sure where to look to find the gear ratio or even what it could most likely be any help would very appreciated

If you don't have a sticker on the rear diff or a stamped aluminum tag on the rear diff then I would suggest you contact Chrysler for your build sheet. The build sheet will tell you what gear ration was put in the truck as the assembly plant.

A good guess can be made off of what size wheels it originally come with? 17" normally 3:55, 20" usually 3:92. Look at the door jamb sticker. Or pull the rear end cover and count the teeth.

In the Glove Box there should be a white sticker and on the Info listed one line should say Corporate Axle 3.55 or whatever else (3.92), The 03's have the sticker and no Tag on the Diff (mine Anyways).
Greg's 17" wheel theory is probably bang on for a 3.55 Guess.

You could also pull the diff cover with the axle on jack stands and spin the assembly until you see the ratio stamped in the ring gear. 17 inch tires could also have 3.21 too

thank all I will look in the glove box to see if there is a sticker in there...mine came with 20" on it orig. is it true that dodge had a recall of rear diff from 02-09
