New to forum, have had my 2001 Ram 1500 since new. 175,000m+.
Trying to replace the multi-control lever to fix turn signal problems. 1st step calls out to disable the airbag. Does that just mean disconnecting the battery cables and waiting 2 minutes? Is there anything else required to disable? Manuals give multiple warnings but don't actually tell you how to do it.

Thanks!!!

And leave it connected for more than 2 minutes..more like 20. The airbag has a capacitor in it that needs to discharge as well.
