How do I convert my truck to true dual without the check engine light come on and not lose any MPG.

I want it from the manifold back true dual. I don't have emmissions here in Ohio so I'll junk the cat. Can I run a true dual on these trucks without the H or X pipe and it not send any codes?
Just a tip. Cats are required by Federal Law not just State. But more important than that junking the cats & screwing with the emissions will hurt way more than help. The cats don't cost you mileage or performance. In fact I have seen guys do exactly like you want to do & their vehicles ran worse. If nothing else run MagnaFlow free flowing Cats. That is what I have done with both my S-10 Blazer 4x4 & my Jeep 5.9 Limited.
The manufactures spend millions on R&D to come up with the best all around vehicle, performance, mileage, drive-ability, & stay within the laws.
That is why the big time racers have engineers on staff. In fact more Engineers than Mechanics.
Just a side note discussing or helping violate laws could put this forum in a bad place. Most forums the mods would of spoke up by now.
Thats my plan is to run two free flowing cats. I ran some more pipe right now it ends just past my crossmember I'm getting more pipe tomorrow but it doesn't run worse I've actually got more low end torque because I had the truck in first doing 25 today and when I floored it the truck went sideways.
As long as you run cats your OK. I was referring to taking them off all together. I must of miss read your post. Somewhere I got the idea you wanted to take them off all together & just run dual pipes with a set of mufflers.
I run MagnaFlow cats on my S-10 Blazer 4x4 & my Jeep GC 5.9 Limited. Without cats you loose too much back pressure. These newer vehicles need back pressure to run to there max in basic stock form.
