Hi. I just got to the leaky timing cover on my 1999 Ram 1500 sport 5.9. I'm a little bit concerned about the slight pitting on the cover where the leak was. I cleaned the hell out of the cover and got it looking much better. I saw a guy put a little aluminum weld and sanded it. I guess my question is will I get away with a new gasket and RTV or should I try to fill/repair the few pits in the casing. See attached pics.
Thanks!

Black RTV is better then the blue? Guy at store told me to use the blue permatex gasket maker and that would fill holes...

I don't like the blue rtv, me its copper high temp red (90% of the time) or just black rtv.
